Privacy Policy
In short: your receipts stay on your iPhone and, if you use iCloud, in your own private iCloud account. SlipSentry has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking, and Productive Developments does not receive your receipts.
What SlipSentry stores
For each receipt you save, SlipSentry stores:
- the scanned image of the receipt
- the store name, purchase date, total paid, and item names
- the date the receipt was added
You can review and edit these details before and after saving. SlipSentry does not ask for your name, email address, location, contacts, or payment information.
Camera and scanning
SlipSentry asks for camera access so you can scan receipts. Scanning uses Apple's built-in document scanner. The app only uses the camera while you are scanning, and it only keeps the pages you choose to save. SlipSentry does not access your photo library.
Reading the text on receipts
To fill in the store, date, total, and items, SlipSentry reads the text on your scanned receipt using Apple's Vision text recognition, which runs on your iPhone. SlipSentry does not send receipt images or text to Productive Developments or to any other service to do this.
Storage on your iPhone
Receipts are saved in SlipSentry's storage on your iPhone. They are protected by your device's own security, such as your passcode, and they are included in your iPhone backups, as with other app data.
Optional iCloud sync
If you are signed in to iCloud and iCloud is turned on for SlipSentry, your receipts, including their images, are also stored in your private iCloud database through Apple's CloudKit service. This keeps them backed up and available on your devices signed in to the same Apple Account.
- This data is stored by Apple in your own iCloud account and counts toward your iCloud storage. Apple's handling of iCloud data is covered by Apple's own privacy policy and iCloud terms.
- Productive Developments cannot view the contents of your private iCloud database.
- If you are not signed in to iCloud, or you turn iCloud off for SlipSentry, the app keeps working and your receipts stay on your iPhone.
What Productive Developments receives
SlipSentry does not contain analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking code, and it does not send your receipts or personal information to Productive Developments.
If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may provide Productive Developments with crash reports and app usage statistics. Apple provides these to developers in a form that does not identify you. You can change this at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.
Sharing
Productive Developments does not sell, rent, or share your information, and does not use it for advertising.
Deleting your data
- To delete a receipt, open it and tap Delete Receipt, or swipe left on it in the receipts list. If iCloud sync is on, the receipt is also removed from iCloud and your other devices.
- Deleting the app removes the receipts stored on that iPhone. Receipts already synced to iCloud stay in your iCloud account until you delete them there, which you can do from your iCloud storage settings.
Children
SlipSentry is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
